Cristina Miatello received her diploma with honours from the Conservatory “C. Pollini” in Padova. She has studied with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Elly Ameling and Elio Battaglia, while studying Baroque performance practice with Sergio Vartolo.
As a winner and finalist in many chamber music voice competitions (Conegliano Veneto, Pescara, Acquasparta), she alternates a carrer in concert work with that of an assistant director to Maestro Antonio Taglioni the theatre and the opera house.
During her years of international activity, she confirmed her place as one of the most popular interpreters of Baroque, chamber, and 17th and 18th century theatrical repertoire.
She has collaborated with many of the most distinguished Baroque musicians, including René Clemencic, Sergio Vartolo, Enrico Gatti, Roberto Gini, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Toni Florio and others.
She has been the guest of numerous international chamber organizations, including the Gulbenkian Foundation of Lisbon, the Teatro Colon in Buenos Ayres, the Gesellschaft der Musik Freunds of Vienna, the Arena of Verona, and the Teatro Massimo of Palermo, and has sung in the most important European festivals (Utrecht, Bruge, Barcelona, Paris, Ghent, Ambronay, Toulouse, ecc).
In the last years she has been on tour in Japan and she has twice participated in the Festival “Misiones des Chiquitos”, held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia) and dedicated to Latin-American baroque music.
She has made many recordings for television broadcasts in Europe, and has recorded with Harmonia Mundi, Tactus, Bongiovanni, Opus 111, and Stradivarius, for which she has received several awards.
She teaches currently Baroque singing at the Conservatorio “B. Marcello” in Venice and “Dall’Abaco” in Verona, and at the International Course of Early Music in Daroca ( Spain)
